'All children deserve the chance to go to school and learn. Education transforms lives, strengthens communities and creates lasting change for generations. Yet around the world, too many children - especially girls - are still denied this opportunity. Street Child is working in some of the most fragile places on earth to ensure access to education for those who need it most.'
Music icon Sir Rod Stewart attended the celebration of fifteen years of Street Child at the launch of the photography exhibition, F I F T E E N; through the lens of the next generation, showcasing photographs captured by fifteen-year-olds from around the world. Furthermore, Sir Rod has assisted in amplifying our campaigns on his social media, aiding in sharing our message far and wide.
Former professional England rugby player Will Greenwood has shown support for Street Child by undertaking challenges such as The Annual Big Ride and the Sierra Leone Cycle Challenge. Will played a pivotal role in launching our Christmas Fundraiser with The Times, stating, 'Talent is distributed equally but opportunity isn’t. I have always thought that it is everybody’s responsibility to create more opportunities.'
